2 maps
Yeah, as some of you might have seen on the evil forum, i'm making 2 new maps by request. Well, basically i'll just reconstruct sumo and shaoliin making it more playable.
So far i'm done with the clashifized sumo:

Thing is, i have no idea what to name it. Any ideas? If you have, post it. Seriously. Not like the times i asked before.

About the name... Uhm... Sumo2 I can't come up with anything smart..

Yes it is, on spawn yes. ( anti-campers )

You did give me some ideas.
BBQ or barbecue would fit perfect for shaoliin.
For this one, maybe furnace or oven.
And no, lava isn't rising. After 15 seconds, the platform you spawn on sinks into the lava, and the room is sealed.

And about the block thing, maybe you could make wide exits, so it needs at least 2 players to block?
Oh, and on shaoliin. Are you gonna remove the wood-like thing where you can jump on (those things on the walls, you know..) ?

Sometimes i see guys camping , waiting till the others jump and then boot them, i think you should do 2 entrances (one on left and one on right)

Actually, i was gonna add 2 exits but i figured that people could endlessly run away then. But i just realized that wouldn't be problem since the spawn gets sealed. Ok, consider it done.
EDIT: Humm, no it won't work out. Four exits would cause lots and lots of mess. Hard to explain. And campers are easy to counter, so it will stay as it is. There will also be no blocking, since the hallways are wider and taller.

LoL you used the normal map for the middle pillar's texture. Those are used in the bumpy client to create the reflections and bumpyness. Just don't use anything ending with _n or _b.

Hmm... Let me try again. I don't want to pump your head full of knowledge you don't need yet, but this isn't that much. If you played in bumpy, you know how textures seem to look 3d-ish and reflect light. These are done by applying a normal and bump map to the original texture.
The bump map is greyscale image, something like this. (i think) This is used to determine how to cast shadows on the texture, as if it wasn't a completely flat surface.
The normal map, used to change the way light affects the surface.
And the two of these applied to the original texture create the
awesomeness you see on clash.

That on your screenshot, is obviously a normal map.

Maybe you could add acid or slime. I've always wanted to put that in one of my maps but they all turned out to have lava instead.

Yeah that's right. For acid or slime as it's mostly called, you simply change the surfaceparm lava to surfaceparm slime. But it's all in the shader manual, so you'll know such things soon.
