Home for Polar Bears of the size of France
It was on the last 24 December (24/12/2010) that the United States of America created a new home of a lot of polar bears that didn't had habitat because of the global warm in some areas on Alasca.
It's a big area, 484.000 km2 - the double of the superficial area of United Kingdom and almost the same area as France- and it is on the North Alasca. This ''resort'' fills the implementation of new protected areas in the same area, creating great difficulty to various oil companies that want to drill in that area, the Artic is already a ''mine'' of gold that englobes 90.000.000 barills of oil and a lot of natural gas.

The disappearing of the ice on the sea it's caused by the climatic changes, it's the biggest threat to survival of the polar bear, following the oil holding, turism and navigation. It's a fact that during these days, the polar bears are disappearing, what difficults the help of that specie, it means that the polar bears ar in way of extinction. It's a big area, 484.000 km2 - the double of the superficial area of United Kingdom and almost the same area as France- and it is on the North Alasca. Re: Science and Technology thread
You guys maybe thing that science is epic boring, but what i'm posting here, is to show that i'm worried about the future, did you guys ever thought about that? Just watch the dates of the natural disasters, they're getting so closer that maybe one day it will happen a bad thing on the world.
Since i didn't found technologic improvements, i will just post science this time, to ''level up'' our knowledge about what's around us.
This time i choosed a very delicated subject, the animals.
To appeal to the HS members, below is a short list of some animals that are in risk of extinction for various reasons: destruction of habitats, overhunting, for their skin, for their fur, for medical reasons, etc.
These are some of the animals that are endangered, you guys can always watch the IUCN site ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) and look for some other species.
PS: This time i didn't did description of the animals because the text was too big and it would make it boring (and it would make me work some hours to translate it, sorry... rules of lazyness )

Sorry, but we can't change anything. Human is too intelligent(stupid(understand however you want)). God gave us brain, but we can't/don't know how to use it, and I don't think that we will learn how. All the planet got f*cked up in 100 years, and we still refuse to believe that we are harming it.
